Basic Layering using the Cricut Expressions

I've had some requests for a video explaining the layering process using the Cricut. Most of the cartridges have layers. Some of the older cartridges have their layering as the two main cuts (base cut plus base cut using the shift key). This is so for New Arrival, Doodlecharms and Christmas Cheer. Then there are some cartridges that have only one layer button, like Joys of the Season, Once Upon a Princess, Locker Talk and Stretch Your Imagination. The licensed cartridges (Disney, Sesame Street etc.) have typically three layer buttons.
For this tutorial I used Create a Critter. This cartridge has three layer buttons. I hope this helps anyone who might be confused about layering and how to cut each layer.
thanks for watching!!

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #33

Good Morning,
I'm so happy you stopped by again! It's time for another Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge! This time it's a sketch challenge. Create a card or a layout using this sketch for inspiration and OMGosh you are not going to believe the prizes for this one!! Perfect for getting ready for fall!!

here's the sketch...

and here's my take on it...

It's Christmas in July! I wonder why every year around this time I start to long for fall and the holiday season to begin. I guess after a long winter and hot warm spring/summer, I am just looking forward to Gingerbread cookies, cocoa and twinking lights!

For this challenge I used the most adorable little stamp set, PK-411 Lil' Gingerbreads and phrases! I just love it and knew immediately that it would be a favorite of mine. This is my nephew helping to make his Papa's favorite cookies for Christmas! He had the best time putting all the kisses on top of the cookies and then of course eating them with his Papa!!

So, don't forget to pop over to the PKS blog and post your creation to be eligible for one of the amazing prizes no later than August 1st!!

And...keep checking back this week because I have something BIG in store for you!!

Peachy Keen Stamps and Cottage Cutz Blog Hop

oh, Yes...it's here ladies and gents!! The Peachy Keen Stamps/Cottage Cutz Blog Hop!! I hope you're ready for some delights for the eyes and some amazing special prizes in honor of the wonderful collaboration between our very own, talented Kathy Jakopovich, founder and designer for Peachy Keen Stamps AND Cottage Cutz dies made by The Scrapping Cottage!

First, here are all the details...
Kathy has designed 14 brand new die sets. Each die set (except the Happy Bird package) will come with two to three Peachy Keen Face stamps to coordinate with your shapes!

The dies will be available for pre-order tomorrow on both Peachy Keen Stamps and The Scrapping Cottage. Single sets will be discounted 15%, or 25% off the entire collection for one week only! Pre-sale ends July 26th. Orders begin shipping the second week in August.

Here are a couple of the projects I was able to create using the Tear Bear die and stamps.

It seemed perfect for me to be given the Tear Bear to use because the preschool that I ran with my sis for over 15 years was named Honey Bear Child Care. This is my class of '97, who by the way all just graduated from High School! Doesn't make me feel too old!

Now...on to the blog hop...
If you've never participated in a blog hop before, it's quite easy. You'll start off at the main blog, in this case it's The Peachy Keen Stamps blog and you'll hop or click from there to each of the other participating blogs. So, since you're here, you've either stumbled upon our blog hop or you've gotten here from Sonia's blog. Either way happy hopping and here's the next link to the very talented Samantha Casey's blog!

But WAIT, before you hop on, leave me a comment. Then at the end of the week, from all the comments, I'll randomly select one lucky winner of a $15.00 gift certificate to be used at Peachy Keen Stamps!!

Please leave me only one comment per person and a blog addy or email addy so I can get in touch with you.

And keep checking back all week, I may have a few more surprises in store for you!!

big hugs,
Heidi

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #32

Good Morning Crafty Ladies it's time for another PKS Challenge!!
Today's challenge is an inspiration challenge....whoohhoo fun! So, create a card or scrapbook page that shows your favorite summer destination!! Make sure to use one of the three B's, bling, brads or buttons!

Hands down, my favorite summer destination (I wait for it all winter) is the GREAT New York State Fair. And yes, they call it the GREAT NYS Fair, imo it is the greatest!

I go to the fair every year with my nephew. We start around 8am and we eat our blueberry pancakes, there are lots of places on the fair grounds to find breakfast. Then we see all the animals, the calves, the pigs, the sheep, the bunnies, the horses and the rainbow chickens! Then we go through the old time exhibits or the hordiculture building. Then we see the butter sculpture and get some amazing Byrne Dairy milk or ice cream. Then we head over to the Home and Arts building where the scrapbook pages are displayed along with all the other crafts, quilts, cross stitch, sewing etc. Lastly, we get some lunch before it's time to go home around 1pm.

Hope you like what I've created. Leave me a message if you do! :) And pop right over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog and create your own summer destination card or layout and you could win some awesome stamps!!
