Tutorial #2 {Basic Page Layout}

since i am a visual person, ive found that being able to see things really helps in the learning process, much more than just reading about something or having something told to me. so, i decided to post this entry all about how to layout a basic page.
the first thing you need to do is gather your supplies. papers, photos and embellishments as well as your tools.

when i am laying out a page, i like to know my photo placement first and foremost.

then i will set my photos aside and consentrate on arranging my patterned papers.

once my papers are adhered to my base cardstock, i'll put my photos back down and move on to embellishments.

a title, some flowers, journaling tags and voila...a finished layout ready to slide right into an album.

Tutorial #1 {Basic Supplies}

this first tutorial will talk about the basic supplies that you will need to begin scrapping. these are items that i find helpful and necessary.

lets start with a list:
cardstock, i use bazzill cardstock. it comes in a rainbow of colors and a variety of textures.

journaling pen, an excellent, quality pen is marvy's medallion drawing pen. i use 03 for most of my journaling.

adhesives, these include photo squares (small pieces of double sided tape)

and/or tape runners, i primarily use tape runners. kokuyo and hermafix are my two favorite brands. repositionable is helpful for beginner scrappers.

patterned paper, there are so many different companies that make incredible patterned paper. some of my favorites are daisy d's, basic grey, cosmo cricket, scenic route and 7gypsies.

embellishments, these are the fun little extras that add personality to your pages.

paper trimmer, this is helpful for cutting your photos and paper straight.
there are lots of different paper trimmers on the market to choose from. i use a fiskars brand trimmer.

and your photos.

ok, lets get scrappin!!
