Mini Albums

Mini albums are a fun way to incorporate lots of photos into a smaller amount of page space. They are easier to hold and tuck into a book bag, purse or suitcase (if you're traveling).

Mini albums come in a wide range of sizes, shapes and mediums. The size of the standard 6 by 6 inch mini album makes it a quick project to put together.

Chip board mini albums come in lots of fun shapes. These albums are relatively inexpensive and lots of fun to put together. I used a Maya Road chipboard album when I made this ABC album for my nephew (see below).

Here is one I recently completed, it took me about 8 hours to complete.

Tutorial #3 {Valentine Hanging Heart}

Tutorial #3 {Valentine Hanging Heart}

Supplies needed:
Cardstock {one piece 6x6, one piece 9x7}
Patterned paper {approx. 4x6}
Lace {25 inches}
Ribbon {8 inches}
Photos {small, no larger than 2 ½ by 2 ½}
Ink
Scallop deco scissors
Thread
Sewing machine
Embellishments {stickers, flowers, dymo etc}

Begin by cutting your heart out of cardstock, and then trace it onto the back of the larger piece of cardstock. Next cut with your scallop scissors around the heart shape on the larger piece of cardstock. Cut at ¾ to 1 inch out from the line you have drawn, this will give you a larger heart with scalloped edges (the base of your valentine).

Next take your smaller heart and your piece of patterned paper. Trace half of the heart on the back of the patterned paper and cut it out.

Glue the patterned paper onto the cardstock heart. At this point you can distress the heart and ink it, if you like.

Next turn your scalloped heart right side up and place your smaller heart on top of it. Lightly trace the smaller heart onto the larger scalloped heart. This will be the line you follow when you are placing the lace onto your heart.

Now it's the really fun part, time to embellish, so gather all your embellishments together.

All done a beautiful hanging valentine, perfect to hang in your house or to give to a loved one.
